Position Purpose:
This position will be responsible to create SW subsystem and SW component designs and to implement the designs while maintaining SW efficiency, SW quality, and product cost.  Additional responsibilities are to support clinical engineers, service engineers, quality engineers, test personnel, and documentation as applicable.

Responsibilities:
1.  Work within a team of engineers and test personnel to prepare high quality deliverables during the design, implementation, integration, test, release, and support phases of product development;
2.  Coordinate activities of other engineers and guide the successful completion of SW modules and SW subsystem as applicable;
3.  Ensure compliance to all internal SOPs and FDA and industry regulations.  Develop and/or improve development processes, procedures and protocols;
4.  Translate the technical system requirements into SW subsystem design and architecture specifications;
5.  Translate the technical system requirements into the relevant SW implementation;
6.  Perform SW module unit test, SW subsystem test, and SW integration test to ensure correct SW operation and quality;
7.  Participate and lead detailed design reviews in accordance with SOPs. Provide design optimizations;
8.  Participate and lead code inspections in accordance with SOPs. Provide coding optimizations;
9.  Utilize and enhance the software configuration management system to correctly maintain SW files. Able to build SW and install SW in a development and product environment;
10. Contribute to a collaborative engineering environment with engineering teams and cross functional teams;
11. Support test personnel with executions of verification tests and the repair of defects;
12. Estimate work effort and resources necessary to complete module and subsystem assignments;
13. Represent the department and company factually and professionally in facility audits;
14. Work to create a collaborative engineering environment with engineering teams and cross functional teams in other client locations world-wide;
15. Contribute to program planning, strategic planning and department-wide process improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

Education -
A. BS Computer Science or Electrical Engineering required;
B. MS Computer Science or Electrical Engineering a plus.

Related Experience -
A. 5 – 8 years previous experience in software design, analysis and trouble shooting in an engineering environment (3 to 6 years previous experience with MS degree);
B. Solid technical knowledge of software engineering in product development;
C. Medical device background preferred.

Special Competence/Training -
A. Competent in use of Microsoft office software.
