Brief Job Description:
Position Summary: Under the general direction of Finance Director, the Accountant is responsible for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work prepared by Finance Department. This position should have a thorough understanding of the contract awarded and demonstrate technical expertise in the job functions of the Finance Department staff.
Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting and two years of relevant accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility; or Bachelor’s degree in related field and four years of relevant accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility; or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties and functions of the job.
2. One year of supervisory experience
3. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
Preferred:
1. Experience with Lawson software or other modern automated systems.
2. Knowledge of and experience with government contracts
3. Experience with accounts payable, payroll, account reconciliation, general journal entries and general ledger.
