Technical Specialist-Web Svcs (WAS Administrator on Unix and / or Linux)

BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for the support, tune and troubleshoot of 120  applications running in, primarily, Websphere 6.0 Application Server environments.  Routine tasks include: troubleshooting of daily issues, reporting on outages, support and execution of work through level 3 work order and service desk requests. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1.) Bachelor Degree with 4 years experience of Websphere Application Server Administration on Unix and/or Linux OR 6 years experience of Websphere Application Server Administration on Unix and/or Linux.  2.) Experience in a large (50 ) application environment hosting Websphere 6.0  applications. 3.) Experience working in a 24 x 7 environment.  4.) Ability to troubleshoot and tune complex Websphere based applications.  5.) Ability to work on-call rotational support.  

Preferred Position Requirements:  
1.) Knowledge of IHS (IBM apache web server), networking basics and Websphere XD are a definite plus.  2.) Experience in the following technologies: MQ, DB2, WAS, CICS, JAVA.  3.) Ability to work early morning shift (5am to 2pm). 4.) Preference will be given to candidates with additional years experience in required and/or preferred skills.

This position can be located in Chicago, IL or Waukegan, IL.
