General Purpose
Provide technical experience with the design and implementation of in situ innovative remediation technologies, including chemical oxidation, enhanced biodegradation, injection/extraction methodologies, etc. Responsibilities include preparation of cost estimates, remedial system designs, remedial system operation and maintenance oversight, and preparation of work plans and other associated documents.
Essential Functions
1. Prepare planning documents for site assessments, site characterization, and corrective action projects.
2. Manage field projects and collect soil, air, and groundwater samples.
3. Oversee field staff and subcontractors.
4. Design and conduct pilot and treatability studies.
5. Design remediation systems.
6. Oversee construction of remediation systems.
7. Conduct operation and maintenance operations.
8. Prepare field reports and system reports.
9. Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
Special Knowledge or Skills
• Remedial technologies including soil vapor extraction, air sparging, bioventing, in situ chemical oxidation, etc.
• Conducting pilot studies and treatability studies
• Knowledge of environmental regulations
• Excellent written, oral, and computer skills
• Ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically and creatively, draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations
• Ability to prioritize and organize, work well under stress, meet deadlines
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change
• Ability to work flexible hours, as required to meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills to assist and communicate with staff
