EMPLOYMENT
Location: Nationwide
The Special events manager is accountable for the successful execution of event plans and logistics in achieving stated income goals for assigned events, working closely with volunteer leaders, law enforcement and event staff. The Manager implements event action plans for Gr8est Life Inc. kick off program “Talent Explosion 2010”
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
♫ Manages successful execution of scheduling meetings with sponsoring clubs to promote Gr8est Life Inc.’s “Talent Explosion 2010”
♫ Assist with the hiring of assistant special events manager.
♫ Effectively recruits school volunteer clubs/teams, and coordinates their implementation of special event plans and protocols.
♫ Secures venue and designated minimum number of schools participation.
♫ Coordinates event logistics and planning of all related aspects of "Talent Explosion 2010" city events, including preliminaries, semifinals and the City Championship
♫ Tracks indicators of progress towards income goals, escalating findings and recommending solutions as required.
♫ Adheres to expense management practices and division spending guidelines.
♫ Complete weekly city reports.
♫ Ensures all event communications are distributed timely and accurately to all constituent groups.
♫ Manages vendor and ad sales, and ticket distribution for events.
♫ Assists in identifying sponsorship leads and other opportunities to maximize income potential for events.
♫ Ensures implementation of data collection for each income activity, including income/expense information and donor/volunteer records
♫ Works effectively to represent the Gr8est Life Inc. and its mission in the community, participating in mission objectives as required.
♫ Attends evening and/or weekend meetings and/or events as needed. Participates in required regional event meetings, conference calls and other trainings to maximize success of events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in education, marketing, social services, sales or event planning.
- Must legally be able work with and around children.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Experience recruiting, training and delegating to volunteers.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects, review and prepare event schedules and meet critical deadlines.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office Word & Excel.
- Must have access to the internet from their home as well as internet savvy.
- Resourcefulness, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
This is a salaried position paid weekly, Flexible schedule 30-35 hours, performance Bonuses, Paid time off, and most importantly a chance to make a difference in your community.
