JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION:                           Driver II TAP – Senior Services Division

SALARY RATE:                  $10.55

STATUS:                              Non-Exempt, Full Time, Temporary

Under the direct supervision of the Transportation TAP Coordinator, the Driver II will be responsible for the duties below.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – include but are not limited to the following:

1.   Transport frail and disabled senior citizens to medical appointments, grocery, social services agencies,

      nutrition sites, adult day care centers and other sites as necessary.

2.   Operate program vehicles in a safe and orderly manner.

4.   Maintain accurate records of operations as required and prepare daily reports on ridership, vehicle                              mileage and condition, and collect donations.

5.   Oversee vehicle maintenance, conduct daily vehicle inspections, and report all problems to the Supervisor.

6.   Perform other job related duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a valid California CLASS B driver’s license and a good driving record.  Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.  A minimum of one year experience as a transportation driver.  Experience working with senior population desired.  Must be courteous, patient, and conscientious in all dealings with program participants.  Person selected for employment will be fingerprinted, background checked, drug screened, and required to train 20 hours on the job.

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:                     High School graduate or equivalent
