For 33 years, Crown Parts and Machine, Inc. has been the largest aftermarket manufacturer of parts and components for off-highway haul trucks and shovels for the mining industry. In 2006, Crown doubled the manufacturing space, hired additional machinist and increased the production capability. December 2008, H-E Parts International LLC completed the acquisition of Crown Parts and Machine. H-E Parts International is the world’s largest independent supplier of parts, remanufactured components and equipment to the global mining, quarry and heavy construction industries. This acquisition expanded Crown’s sales capacity globally.
Crown Parts and Machine is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Production Planner and Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing or job shop environment with an additional 3+ years in a supervisory position. A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field is desired but not required.
A thorough understanding of machine, welding and fabrication shop practices is required. The candidate should have the ability to train and supervise shop personnel in the set up, machining, welding, assembly and inspection complicated mechanical parts and components.
The knowledge and ability to implement modern scheduling programs.
Desire to work closely with the Quality Control Department in maintaining and improving Quality Control practices.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Coordinates and directs the activities of the production department to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.
· Inspects product to verify production specifications are met.
· Trains and supervises production personnel including machinists welders, mechanics, etc.
· Effectively manages and assigns labor to complete production schedules as efficiently as possible.
· Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations and good manufacturing practices.
· Analyzes and resolves work problems or assist workers in solving work problems and initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
· Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and maintains time and production records.
· Recommends measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and quality of product and reduce product loss and suggests change in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
