Girl Scouts Heart of the South is seeking a Pathways Specialist to work in the Tupelo regional area.  This position will work collaboratively with a Pathways Innovations team and other membership staff to promote the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and attain sustained membership growth in new pathways.  This position will create and use pathway-specific plans to extend membership offerings to both girl and adult members.

The Pathways Specialist is expected to educate the community and extend Girl Scouting opportunities through all available pathways by developing innovative outreach systems, collaborative efforts, and by assisting in the marketing efforts of the council. It is the job of the Pathways Specialist to recruit and engage volunteers and girls in the community through new membership pathways and exemplary support services.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or three years experience in community organizing or volunteer management.  The candidate must possess good written and oral communication skills and excellent time management skills.  The candidate should be able to work a flexible schedule, which includes some nights and weekends. A valid driver’s license, use of one’s own vehicle for travel and a good driving record is also required.  Spanish is a plus, but not a requirement.
