Trading Systems Developer                                                                   

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for ongoing development of  hybrid (voice and electronic) core matching engines.  These systems support order management and trade execution for most critical hybrid businesses globally.  The team is based in New York and London – this candidate will be based in New York (midtown location)

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Hands-on role developing and maintaining matching engines and surrounding processes for electronic and voice brokerage systems
• Collaborating with other development teams globally to understand requirements and concerns, to trouble-shoot and diagnose issues etc.

Skill Set (Mandatory)

• 4+ years in-depth experience using C, C++ and Perl.  Must be a very strong hands-on developer.  Must have hands-on working experience with:
  • Transaction processing systems, preferably matching engines or execution platforms
  • Developing and deploying applications on Solaris

Skill Set (Optional)

• Inter-process communication and network development
• Experience with RDBMS (Sybase in particular) a plus.

Business Knowledge

• Prior experience with fixed income or equities front office development a major plus.

Personality

• Established history of delivering successful technology solutions in complex technical and business environments
• Good communication skills – must be able to discuss technical design, give clear updates on status and escalate issues appropriately
