The Group provides each major business in with a dedicated team that works closely with that business to understand its particular technology needs.
In the role of Regional Data Center Manager, you will be part of the Global Data Center Management team whose responsibility is the provision of suitable environments to host IT Infrastructure in Data Centers and Communication rooms across the Americas region in line with Global standards.
The candidate will be expected to be hands-on to assure that activities are properly managed and completed. The candidate will need to be results and goals oriented to ensure that appropriate operational procedures and processes are in place to provide reliable build, operation, maintenance and inventory of the Data Center and Communications rooms in accordance with Business based .
• Compliance to departmental specifications, policies, and standards to guide the deployment of infrastructure (racks, servers, power, cooling, cabling, etc.)
• Management of DC IT infrastructure and it’s impact on electrical and mechanical systems, Network infrastructure and related capacities
• Managing standards and DC related change management
• Managing vendor relationships pertaining to Data Center operations and management /support
• Maintaining control over Data Center physical security and compliance
• Provide Incident management for any impacts to DC services
• Maintain DC inventories and financial recoveries relating to them
• Assist compliance to the Global Data Center strategy
• Assist design and implementation of DC Projects, cabling systems and equipment housing regionally
• Provide a level of project management support for Data Center installations
• Assist with server installation and network connectivity, planning Data Center resources as appropriate
• Ensure effective communication channels with other technology groups
• Maintain DC rack profiles and diagrams of all sites within the region
• Work closely with the Real Estate group on all developments relating to the DC and supporting environment
This role is ideal for flexible self-starters who are customer-focused, have excellent communication skills and a team player. Ideally you will be qualified to degree level with a history in Financial Facilities. Proven experience in a customer support role.
Key technical skills include:
• Experience in all aspects of IT/Cabling/Networks/Engineering project management (comm. rooms, data centers, M&E and technology spaces)
• Strong knowledge and understanding of DC supporting infrastructure such as redundant power path and UPS systems, HVAC, fire suppression, access controls and wiring and cabling infrastructure
• Hands on technical leader with familiarity in managed operations for common industry technology platforms (UNIX, AS400, Wintel, Storage, Networks, Servers)
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with the proven ability to execute data-driven decisions
• Exposure to M&E and IMAC incident reporting, management and escalation
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment.
