UNIX Systems Administrator
Location: NY- Midtown
JOB SPECIFICATION
The person required must have strong technical skills in the technologies listed below. They will form part of a 6 member Unix SA Team consisting of 4 x UNIX SA’s, 1 x Hardware Engineer and 1 x Technical Manager.
This team is part of a Global Unix group with another 4 UNIX SA’s, 1 x Hardware Engineer and 1 x Global Technical Manager based in the UK.
The SA’s provide support to all UNIX based technology in the BGC/Cantor Fitzgerald Web businesses, Front Office, Back Office, Market Data and external clients.
The candidate will have a strong technical ability with SUN Solaris, Veritas Clustering & Volume Manager, Legato Networker, shell scripting and SAN technology, which is being standardised to EMC storage.
The candidate must be willing to work two shifts (early 7:00am – 3:00pm and late 10:30am – 6:30pm). We also provide weekend on-site cover using a rota system @ once per month (see points below). The core skills required are: -

Points to Note
· The candidate will be expected to provide weekend on-call/site cover based on a rota within the team. This is balanced across the team approx 1 week in 4.
