We are looking to hire an Application Support Analyst for FICC Chicago

The Information Technology Group (ITG) is responsible for:

• Managing technology infrastructure
• Supporting, maintaining, and enhancing existing business systems
• Delivering and deploying new systems, technologies, and services

The Group provides each major business in  with a dedicated team that works closely with that business to understand its particular technology needs.

The Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) group is involved in a broad range of financial markets trading activities. Its services include a market leading full service listed derivatives clearing business located in Sydney, London, Chicago and New York.

We are seeking to recruit an experience and enthusiastic support analyst to join FICC information technology team in a contractor position in our Chicago office.

The selected candidate will be responsible for

• Providing day to day production support and maintenance to a suite of middle/back office applications.
• Liaising directly with the Business to obtain requirements for small to medium size development requests.

Technically, the following is essential:

• Strong relational database skills in Oracle, SQL Server or Sybase.
• Previous experience in supporting GMI
• Previous experience in supporting ClearVision
• Some experience in MS Access, Excel and VBA experience

In addition, to succeed in this role you will have:

• Practical experience in production support of critical systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• The ability to work well under pressure in providing timely and accurate solutions to systems problems;
• Strong problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task.

Experience with the following technologies/systems would also be highly regarded:

• Linux/UNIX environment (shell scripting, etc).
• Experience with FIX protocol or similar messaging protocols.
• Experience in maintenance/support of J2EE applications.
