General Summary: Interprets and evaluates physician orders in order to prepare and dispense appropriate medications. Manages drug therapy of patients. Provides information to physicians, nurses, and patients. Assists in the supervision of pharmacy technicians.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy. Current licensure from the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy. (If out of state, eligible for licensure in Maryland; licensure requirements completely satisfied within three (3) months after employment.) Able to communicate effectively, speak, write and comprehend English. Able to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff in order to meet departmental objectives. Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Preferred: Knowledge of software: Word, Excel, Power Point; ASHP accredited residency, membership in ASHP and WMSHP.
