Downes Associates Inc, a growing engineering firm on Marylands Eastern Shore, is seeking a Senior Field Services Technician to provide customer onsite support of electrical physical plant (substations) equipment. The positions principal responsibility will be to conduct field testing and repair of electrical power substation equipment to include protective relays, transformers, voltage regulators, generators, transfer switches, etc. Secondary responsibility will be to conduct both shop testing, programming and calibration of KWH class meters, and perform meter reading for customers.

Position Expectations:
Comprehensive knowledge of electric power systems, including the methods and materials used in the testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of distribution and generation substation facilities. Knowledge of protective relay and KWH meter testing procedures
Physical ability to employ and manipulate the various tools and equipment required to perform the duties of this position (lifting weights up to 100lbs may be required).
Frequent travel (50%+) of approximately 2 hours driving time is required with this position.
Prefer an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering
2-3 years field experience
Familiarity with NETA and/or IEEE testing; Certification is a plus factor.
Compensation:
This position offers compensation in the $55-$60k range and includes a 401k, profit sharing and full-benefits package. Relocation assistance is available for this position.
