    Job Description Summary

    The Operations Clerk provides contact and liaison between production team, production leadership, and internal departments. Processes incoming orders; receive, evaluate, and respond to written or telephoned customer or internal inquiries in a timely manner. Work within established guidelines in order to achieve the production departments daily objectives, and lead gathering and documenting metrics for review by production leadership, consistent with customer expectations, company policy and profit and quality requirements. The production operations clerk acts as a key conduit between production floor team, production leadership, and other functions including but not limited to: FSQA, Inventory Control, Shipping and Receiving, and Logistics to help support the timely flow of information to assist with timely execution of production needs.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Respond to general inquires, emails, and telephone calls directed toward the production department. Respond to requests by researching information and take detailed messages. May be authorized to make decisions on routine matters as delegated by the supervisor. Refer problems to supervisor/manager for resolution.
    • Distribute work orders (tickets) to specified production areas as needed throughout production shift. Sort and stage order tickets for next day distribution to production areas.
    • Proactively identify future orders and populate production needs on future orders communication log.
    • Produce weekly product production schedule based on input from production management and business need.
    • Follow all Food Safety requirements and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices
    • Must be able to work continually in a refrigerated environment 35F- 45F.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience

    2-3 years clerical experience required, preferably in an office/distribution environment.

    Related Experience/Requirements: Production, warehouse, food processing, manufacturing, food production or food service warehouse environments preferred. Able to work overtime as needed. Complete miscellaneous and other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    Must be able to refer to documentation or manuals/guidelines to resolve issues and have a basic foundation of process to provide some general assistance. Must have good computer skills mainframe downloads; report generation; data entry and word processing skills. Must be able to resolve a variety of issues/topics of fairly routine nature with some independence.
